Medium Work – Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Job Overview:

The Activities Coordinator is Responsible for developing, planning, and implementing activity and recreation programs to meet participants’ needs while ensuring compliance with regulatory documentation. Collaborates with staff to create monthly activity calendars, facilitates activities across CESI sites, and fosters community partnerships to enhance programming through donations and resources.

Primary functions in this role:

  • Develop, plan, and implement the activity and recreation programs to meet the goals and needs of individual participants, and the group needs of all participants.
  • Complete all regulatory documentation, such as quarterly activities notes, and care plans, on all participants, in a timely manner.
  • Works in tandem with programmatic staff to develop, write and disseminate the monthly activities calendars. Responsible for keeping electronic copies of each calendar for DPH review.
  • Contributes to agency-wide projects to expand services and community partnerships; assists the Chief Strategy Director in strategic planning initiatives.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Philanthropic Investment, by seeking out community partnerships and collaborations that maximize resources for the activities programming, including through free and reduced costs services, donations, or scholarships.
  • Responsible for leading and facilitating activities at all CESI sites in collaboration with program aides.
  • Responsible for creating monthly activities calendars for all CESI sites.
  • Responsible for daily data entry in electronic records, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Equipment:

  • Medical and participant care equipment as needed to meet the needs of Adult Day Health Center’s participants.

Working Conditions:

  • Indoors
  • Extensive participant contact.
  • Possible exposure to infection, blood and blood borne pathogens.
  • May work with hazardous/infectious waste.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, may be waived in lieu of experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with the aging population
  • Therapeutic recreation specialist or activity professional certification required.
  • Computer proficiency required
